It is #PortfolioDay once more. I'm a traditional illustrator specializing in pen and ink. I've contributed to a number of fiction publications and TTRPG projects, and I am currently looking for more work!

Behold! The cover art for our upcoming Arthurian issue, as created by the inestimable @teradiamart.bsky.social ! We're incredibly thankful for this amazing art, and we're thankful for all the lovely stories our authors provided for this issue.

Keep eyes peeled for a ToC reveal in the near future!

Dense, weird, with gorgeous prose, Gene Wolfe's New Sun series set the bar for high-brow fantasy. Worth re-reading, you'll find fresh literary gems each go around. And while old-fashioned in their sensibilities (esp. regarding women) they remain worthy books. #fantasy #sword&sorcery #booksky

The epic voiceover at the beginning of this song was apparently Orson Welles' last job before he passed. Manowar rocked hard. "Ride like the wind, fight proud my son. You're the Defender God has sent..." #musicsky #fantasy #sword&sorcery #metal

Books to film 📚=🎞️

A Princess of Mars (1912) by Edgar Rice Burroughs was filmed as John Carter (2012). The protagonist is changed from a genteel soldier to a damaged veteran. Other changes include how Carter gets to Mars as the film discards the imperialist tone of the book. 🔴⚔️👽

My Bob Weir tale. Worked at a Grateful Dead sports bar in Chicago (don't ask). I am not a Dead fan (don't hate them, indifferent). Late night, bartender (a woman) came to me and said, "I'm going to give Bob Weir a haircut at the Ritz Carlton. You are the last person I'd ask, 1/6

"Parsival or A Knight's Tale" by Richard Monaco, 1977. A novel novel rife with brutality and transcendent beauty. Dark and violent, it's proto-grimdark written long before the term was even imagined. The whole series is truly unlike any other Arthurian tales I've read. #booksky #kingarthur #fantasy

He did the covers of a rerelease of the prose collections too, which are nice pieces.

For those considering using AI/LLMs for their books or book covers. I was just about to mark a book as one I was interested in reading as part of a judging allotment, then didn't due to the use of AI in its cover. You're genuinely missing out on readers (& reviews) when you use this shite
