well it's less that it doesn't feel like that and more that i don't feel like a distinct identity. i guess there could be two vriskae now but that sounds like a logistical nightmare i hope not

i've always assumed ITAR was moderately ineffective ever since i noted that companies started implementing it via the windows installer click-through EULA field

fl studio works in wine but you have to set the os as windows 7 in winecfg or it'll be really slow for some reason

considering this and some other factors i genuinely think the most likely explanation is that the team wanted to offer real downloads but couldn't get approval for it

i have noticed the interesting factor here that 1. the nintendo music drm has an obvious backdoor with no clear reason to exist and 2. a few months ago they gave a conference talk on the internals of the app, and they definitely would have reviewed the relevant code while preparing it

just saw someone say "discord needs its own bluesky", stared into space for 20 seconds, and decided that actually the current chat landscape is good enough we don't really need anything new
