Media literacy is down, so to be clear, when the WSJ writes “Ultimately, the fact pattern Meta relies on to meet its conflicting objectives strains credibility” about your accounting practices and runs an accompanying flowchart, that is the equivalent of a 500-foot neon sign reading “FRAUD”
This feels like one of those stories you're going to look at a year from now and say to yourself, "Why didn't I move more of my portfolio into cash?" **

since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.

I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.

Game engines being named things like "Unreal" and "Unity" is a gift that produces so many incredible phrases. "3+ years' experience with unreal materials" what is this, an SCP Foundation job listing?
the star wars jedi team is hiring: we're looking for a senior technical materials artist (3+ years experience w/ unreal materials). mutuals, my DMs are open

my #1 largest pet peeve is the fact that everybody assumes ai executives suddenly know what they're talking about when they say something that supports criticism of them. they really don't know what they're talking about then either

ars technica on a google exec saying they need to scale google cloud by 1000x in 5 years: "It’s unclear how much of this 'demand' Google mentioned represents organic user interest in AI capabilities"
it represents nothing they made that number up with no basis in reality.

MAMDANI: And I just think that there are barriers, barricades, to helping Americans that we can break down
TRUMP: Uh huh
MAMDANI: And breaking down barriers? Reminds me of a certain Broadway show *smiling widely* where they worked together to break a barricade?
TRUMP: *sitting bolt upright* Phantom
