Incidentally, this is part of why quicksave is F9, even though saving is F5 in many other games: F5 was already assigned.

But if you're playing the Plus patch, Nines' frag grenade was restored. If you can't find it elsewhere in your inventory, try F5!

Since thrown weapons were removed, scrolling left and right through your normal inventory categories may skip over thrown weapons, but F5 will allow you to access it.

The fragmentation grenade restored as a usable item, given to you by Nines Rodriguez

F4 functionality is duplicated with the I key, and F6 with the scrollwheel, so they're never needed, although they still work.

Thrown weapons were removed from the game prior to shipping, so F5 was deprecated.

F1: Melee weapons
F2: Ranged weapons
F3: Armor

But did you know:
F4: Non-weapon inventory
F5: Thrown weapons
F6: Disciplines
