Isn't the statute of limitations for indictment already done as of Sept 2025? There's nothing to bring to the table anymore.

Ignore the haters, mate. Glad to see former politicians from both sides of the aisle come together in unison to support our nation and its representatives.

Green and gold - all day, every day.

Avowed: 3/10.

Play the original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion instead, or better yet - buy the Remastered edition.

Avowed is many things, but good is not one of them. It presents itself like a half-assed, half-baked, soulless product that exists purely to maintain IP rights. It's empty, bland and not immersive at all. I have yet to find anything enjoyable about the game.

...Wait, no - Marius is funny.

Melee is not much better. Swing three times for combo, block/parry, rinse repeat, but at least it's as mind-numbing as everything else in Avowed that I can turn my tactics brain off and enjoy the Big Number Go Brr dopamine of Spartan-Kicking Xaurips off Cliffs.

Overall, though? The combat is dull.

I've stopped playing a mage character due to the boring rotation and because while I normally have joy overcoming difficult encounters in games, I am having no joy as a spellcaster. I have the fortitude of wet toilet paper and have a crippling addiction to potions and food.

So I swapped to melee.

And yet, I beat up the <chapter boss> and all I got was this single lousy <item> ... That I deconstruct immediately because its gold value is garbage, and it's better suited to upgrading the feline codpiece I got in Dawnshore.

Which is not even good armor, but it's better than the alternative.

I know it's a little rich to complain that combat does not feel rewarding while I play on the hardest difficulty of the game, however when you burn resources and consumables to defeat a considerably tough boss you want "some kind of reward". There has to be some tangible, positive gain.

On PotD difficulty, the combat system is tedious and repetitive as a spellcaster, focused entirely on cooldowns, dodging and essence reservoirs. Midway through Act I (approx. 10-15 hours into the game), I began to feel like I was making progress.

Until The Emerald Stair, the second half of Act I.

So far as both a Wizard and a Fighter playstyle, I have found the Fighter playstyle infinitely easier. I play on Path of the Damned, a habit I have across every game - Load up a game first time on the hardest difficulty and continue from there. Don't roll back because it's difficult, get better.

The only reason I even know the lore of the game is that I've 100% completed Pillars of Eternity and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. I've already been subject to the lore, but that shouldn't mean any subsequent dives into Eora are left unexplained for the newly initiated.

And combat??

There's a sidebar they added, so any highlighted text has a deeper explanation, which is "nice", I suppose? But I shouldn't have to bury myself in encyclopedia sidebars to experience and understand the lore - It should be living & breathing in front of me.

What should have been an incredibly lore rich, immersive, tactile game has come across flat, bland and boring. We don't delve much into the nature of the Wheel, just that you're an unclaimed godlike working for the Aedyran Empire to look into the "Dreamscourge" in the Living Lands.

The lore... ugh.

Why did it have to be so good?! Now I'm doubly mad. Icebrood Saga, the Charr Civil War and the Norn trying to oppose the Svanir and corrupted Spirits of the Wild should have gotten more screentime and development and End of Dragons just shows they had the *capability* to make Icebrood Saga better.

I've had most of my issues with random crashes. Usually these occur during Equipment Crafting, so to avoid issues I hit save after a couple of items and I generally avoid it.

Or it's post-Hunt and the game has already saved. Once that's fixed, I imagine any teething issues would be addressed.

I'm really only doing it for me -

Maybe next time, I'll see people around. If you pop in, say hi, I'll happily discuss what's being played. 👋

Just start streaming for my own sake and not the sake of anyone watching. It was a fun, cool, chill 6 hours. I spent most of it talking to myself, explaining what I was doing and why, without any real issues if nobody was watching.

Probably the best way to start so I can be the authentic me.
