Wasteful potential. Despite some good qualities and unique gameplay mechanics, it unfortunately fails to go further; the content is sparse and the arcade mode is very repetitive. The roster is decent but questionable. At least I love Main Raiden.

It retains some of the first game's flaws, and its new mechanics feel somewhat underdeveloped. That said, it's better, less frustrating, and less tedious, which is a good thing. The story is the same, but even though I won't go into it, MMZ's story is enjoyable.
