This is a very good point.

I find it similar to asking a friend for help, sometimes in my attempt to articulate the problem well enough for a friend (or cold uncaring machine) to help me I end up solving the problem myself.

The switches are called Gazzew Boba U4. They're silent and "tactile" which just means there's a little bump before they press down. But there's also silent "linear" switches which have no resistance at all. I think they come in two different resistance weights, I got the easier to press ones.

I do not want to persuade you against your carefree life of keyboard bliss - HOWEVER - there are lots of different switches with different feels and sounds. I have a split keyboard and I got some very quiet and easy to press switches which I like. Beware the rabbit hole, though, lol.

This looks really cool, I'm not smart enough to understand either of these things but it reminds me a bit of this blog post: the-witness.net/news/2010/05...

Thought it might be interesting if you hadn't already heard about it.

I've struggled with this in the past, too. The only thing I've ever come up with is lerping between TWO sines. It's obviously not a very nice solution, but it mitigates the jumpiness and is easy.
