Gov. Stein signs Iryna's Law, but calls out the GOP for failing to address the root issue of mental health and disempowered healthcare workers.

What does a government shutdown mean for NC?

❌ 51,900 NC federal workers are unpaid or furloughed
❌ Families lose WIC & SNAP food aid
❌ Flights are delayed from short staffing
❌ National parks are closed

The longer the shutdown lasts, the more impact we will see.

The failure to pass a medicaid bill was an unforced error. Democrats called this out back in August.

The NC GOP failed to meet the October 1st deadline to provide adequate funding for medicaid. Despite having three months to broker a deal, they have chosen to put political disputes ahead of our people's health.

"The General Assembly has failed you", says Gov. Stein.

Republicans just brought the House into session for a total of 2 minutes.

Democrats tried to bring up legislation to keep government open, keep children on their insurance, and keep health care costs from doubling.

Then they adjourned. The GOP will own this shutdown.

Due to Trump's trade war, China is buying soybeans from Argentina and Brazil putting NC at a $550M loss.
