Just a note from having been by Alex Pretti’s murder scene on Saturday when federal officers started to open up with less lethal munitions and tear gas. It being so cold in Minnesota right now prevents anything like that, even if large amount of water were to work

I’ve been at 4 serious ICE/CBP escalations in the past week, all within a 5 minute walk of my apt. Alex Pretti having two run-ins with the Feds just by going about his day is an experience a lot of Minnesotans share right now

You don’t want to just alleviate the stinging sensation but actually try some decontamination if you’ve been exposed to tear gas. Flush eyes with water only. Gargle water and spit (don’t swallow) if your mouth is an issue.

I was at the intersection of 26th and Nicollet soon after Alex Pretti’s murder, and besides federal officers filming bystanders with their own phones, a CBP officer was going down the police line with a sinister camera setup, lingering on each onlooker in turn and focusing in on them

This was ICE/CBP driving away from a house a few blocks from where I live in South Minneapolis. All bystanders were on the sidewalk and no one was approaching the vehicle. I didn’t capture this part on film, but the car behind it did spray mace out the window

He is simultaneously pepper sprayed in the face by a second while a third officer throws a gas canister directly at him. I am then briefly overwhelmed by Gas on camera trying to help him away. CBP and Bovino leaving just means they’ll be harming people elsewhere

From Whittier in Minneapolis: learn who your neighbors are now, find out which orgs are doing organizing/legal trainings in your city, get first aid/tear gas information from reputable sources and have at least basic equipment on hand. CBP needs to be institutionally demolished too

Can attest, was at the corner across from Cheapo Records on 26th and Nicollet this morning and within 20 minutes of the shooting, when there were almost as many agents with guns as observers, people led an “Fuck ICE, ICE Out“ chant
