On reflection, it’s probably safest if Trump doesn’t find out what Habeas corpus is.

Can't wait for the tense identification parade scene where a terrified witness has to point at the culprit.

Errrr…

"Antifa has been around in various iterations for almost 100 years in some instances, going back to the Weimar Republic in Germany."

Habeas Corpus, another brave Hungarian peasant girl like her cousin Magna Carta…

Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

Not that I’m aware, sadly

Great (and funny) speech on freedom and personal liberty by Jack Rankin MP springs to mind

Amid many speeches, the best speech I heard this week - indeed one of the best I’ve ever heard - was by a Ukrainian former university professor, now an officer in the Ukrainian army’s Azov Corps. They are opposing barbarism with mind, body and heart. A remarkable nation. #cpc25

That’s very kind of you to say - I very much enjoyed taking part in it

Really enjoyed the Re:State panel on Monday afternoon - thanks for your very thought-provoking contribution.

Farewell, Manchester - my favourite party conference venue - after another hectic, rewarding week. Dozens of top notch Total Politics fringe events, great reporting from @politicshome.bsky.social + ConservativeHome, and networking with politicians, activists and clients. See you again soon! #CPC25

Ludlow Castle is a classic - and Ludlow itself is a lovely place overall. Stokesay Castle is good too (though a fortified Manor House rather than a castle castle).

Mere days after a fatal terrorist attack, this is being paraded in Trafalgar Square today. For shame.
wallaceme.bsky.social
Yet oddly you won’t answer the question.
wallaceme.bsky.social
I know the answers, Lucy. I've been to both Israel and the West Bank, and met people of various communities in each. I'm interested to see if you know the facts, and to discover how your dogma sits when compared with them.

You appear to be saying you support the universal right to self-determination, except for Israelis whom you exempt on vague grounds of "colonialism".

Tell me, how many Arab Muslims are there in peaceful co-existence in Israel? And how many Jews are allowed to live in the West Bank and Gaza?
wallaceme.bsky.social
So you support Israel’s right to exist and are therefore a Zionist? Make your mind up…
wallaceme.bsky.social
If you are “anti-Zionist” then you oppose Israel’s right to exist, and thereby the application of the universal human right of self-determination for its people. As you’ve said, cutting one group of people out of a right is explicitly racist. Look in the mirror.

Oregon, 1939. “Unemployed lumber worker goes with his wife to the bean harvest. Note Social Security nr. tattooed on arm.”
Nr. 535-07-5248 belonged to one Thomas Cave, born July 1912, died in 1980 in Portland, OR. Which would make him 27 years old when this picture was taken.

You really are struggling this much with the concept of universal fundamental rights being universal?
wallaceme.bsky.social
Oddly what’s not being seen is the straightforward and honest answer to your question written down in black and white. Once more for the hard of thinking: “fundamental…right…to…” bsky.app/profile/wall...

Lots to unpack in three such short sentences. No, my comment is not “racist” - you are being ridiculous.

Yes, antizionism is antisemitic - denying the fundamental right to self-determination specifically (and presumably only, unless you’ve got other targets too?) to Israel’s Jews is antisemitic

Weirder and weirderer. It’s here in black and white, Lucy: bsky.app/profile/wall...

Are you genuinely unable to spot the words “fundamental right to” and then read the words they relate to here? bsky.app/profile/wall...

You both sound a bit unhinged now. And all because you seemingly can’t or won’t read a sentence: bsky.app/profile/wall...
