David Brooks has written an article for The Atlantic trying to make the case that the Ivy League is overrated and has heavily leaned on research by scholars from the Ivy League rather than other institutions to do so. I wonder that his editor(s) didn't observe or point out the irony of this.

In other news, the Beckham documentary is quite something. I can't begin to imagine what kind of fortitude it takes to endure that level of abuse from an entire country and still show up and give it your best. He has my respect on that account.

This weekend has proven just how much Twitter has deteriorated. It is SO exhausting to navigate through it trying to sort the facts from the chaff. Horrible signal to noise ratio. Sad development given the explosive growth it experienced on the back of big global events like the Arab Spring.

I think one of the worst quirks of online spaces is the idea that if someone doesn't post about something, they don't care about it. It encourages performative posting often makes things worse.
