you know how in the movie "titanic" the boat spent like two hours wallowing and slowly sinking after it hit the iceberg and then in a span of five minutes it was like BOOM! straight to the bottom? it really feels like america is reaching those five minutes this week.

Given the meeting's closed-door nature, it's likely focused on our dependency on US infrastructure and technology. The key question seems to be, "How can we extricate ourselves from this increasingly chaotic situation?"
Military chiefs from most NATO and EU countries met in Paris yesterday to discuss new security arrangements. The US wasn’t invited.
It was a closed door meeting and there’s been no announcement of outcome but with both Australia and Japan in attendance we seem to be seeing a new alliance forming.
