Underrated perk of being an artist + YouTuber is that I occasionally get to draw my avatar as a sinister monster. This one's for Roots Devour, a deep forest eldritch horror sim where you're the monster. It's pretty gruesome, but I can't stop playing it.

I’m not keen on the fact that DuckDuckGo already has AI search, but I’m very glad it’s optional.

But what if we vote no so hard they drop AI entirely?

Post a game you remember playing that nobody else remembers.

Boardgame #2 of 2026: Wonderland's War!

It's a competitive area control boardgame with a really unique bagbuilding system in lieu of rolling dice/drawing cards.

You have 3 sets of 4 rounds to accumulate as much power as possible, each punctuated with a battle at the end for dominance & VP.

Played Bitoku for New Years Eve and had a surprisingly good time with it. We'd previously held off on playing because the board is daunting to look at and the learning curve is steeper than most- but once we got rolling it was a solid Kitchen Sink + Point Salad Euro.

Boiled down, this is literally the “No Copyright Infringement Intended” excuse.

Using the plagiarism machine doesn’t magically make it okay, it just obfuscates who you stole from so much that you can pretend you didn’t steal from anyone while letting you blame someone else for letting you do so.

Tis the season for indie game rec threads, and I'm no exception.

Here's a bunch of games I absolutely love that are in the Steam Sale and are 100% worth picking up:

I'm glad Sandfall finally explained the AI generated textures in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I really, really wish they hadn't waited for 8 months to do so, and may not have done so at all if the IGA's hadn't pulled their GotY award. That level of silence speaks volumes.

A few years ago I did a giant poll for the Steam Replay 2022 to see how people stack up against the median Steam user, and wrote up a giant blog post with my observations of the results.

Now that a few years have passed I figured I'd run another one to see what changed: forms.gle/xzPQXquufiU3...

Here’s a really sloppy chart of how I classify games. The A>AAA scale is based on how many resources (time, money, people) were put into developing them.

The Indie>Corporate scale is based on how much potential external control someone has over a studio/game. Even if they aren’t exercising it.

My wife got us into Warhammer: Age of Sigmar earlier this year as a fun thing to do together, and we've been slowly assembling, priming, and now painting our models.

Unfortunately, I'm plagued by indecision with the color scheme for my stormy lads. I tried drawing a mockup and still can't decide!

Went to the local board game store for its bi-annual used game sale and picked up this stack of bangers.

All of these were on our “buy on sight, but don’t expect to see at the sale” list, so it was a pleasant surprise to snag them all.

Only thing we missed out on was the Dark Souls board game.

I’m going to a big used board game sale tomorrow, and need suggestions for games to look out for!

Ideally games that are either:
* Rare
* Out of Print
* Only released via crowdfunding and never retail.
* Are Niche/Dont rank highly on Board Game Geek

Stuff like Sorcerer City & Everstone. Ideally.

If you’re in the US, early voting has probably started in your area. So go vote when you get the chance!

I know it’s an off year for mostly minor positions & local officials, but they’re still important!

Been drawing custom Wanders again for each video I release and having a lot of fun with the designs. Nuke Pong, Druid, and Mushroomboi are definitely my favorites from this batch.

Nice part is almost all of them will only take a few hours to adapt into PNGTuber models.

Got a Demo in the Next Fest? Share it below! I’ve got my week cleared out and would love to find some new gems to showcase/look forward to!

If you’re launching soon after the Next Fest, send me an email so I can check out that version!

Block me if you use generative AI though. I won’t cover it.

For comparison, the digital version has far fewer task tiles, in comparison, and considerably more landscape tiles to pad things out. I've placed 20-30 tiles in this screenshot, have 67 tiles in my stack, and can easily get way more by completing objectives.

It's way more forgiving as a result.

Now that I'm (almost) done putting together all of my Warhammer sets, I finally have the table space to play boardgames again and figured I'd give Dorfromantik a shot.

It's so, so good- to the point where I'd comfortably argue that it's better than the original digital version.

If you don't know how to disable it, here's how to do so on the website.

I don't know how to disable it on other apps, but can look into it if desired.

It's on PC/web as well. Just below language options.

I saw some people claiming that Members only videos will automatically get restricted, and while that's true of my four most recent members videos, multiple of them from a month ago are fully visible on my videos page.

So even that's inconsistently enforced.

Surprisingly, I've found that "Mushroom" or "Shroom" is one of the most censored words on my channel, for some reason! I'd assume it's because 'shrooms' = drugs, but that's still a wild overreach in my opinion.

Also the censorship doesn't apply to playlists in channel searches, surprisingly?
September 11, 2025 at 8:19 PM
Conversely, my video on The Knightling is restricted, and for the life of me I cannot figure out why.

It's arguably one of the most PG games I've covered all year, with n64-era cartoon violence, no blood, and bright, cheerful visuals. The title/thumbnail doesn't contain violent words either.
September 11, 2025 at 8:19 PM
My initial assumption with Restricted Mode is that it would prioritize censoring more violent or mature words & topics, and it does generally restrict videos with: bullet, shooter, hell, kill, abyss (surprisingly?), etc... in the title/thumbnail.

But not always?? This video is still visible.
September 11, 2025 at 8:19 PM
I know other creators have been beating this dead horse for the last week or two, but YouTube's new 'Restricted Mode' is an indiscriminate menace and it bothers me to no end.

Of the last 48 videos I've uploaded to my channel, 17 of them have been restricted for exceedingly unclear reasons.
