We’ve been trying to get to San Francisco to enjoy the city and check out the parks. Will certainly check your site if we can ever get it scheduled!

A10) #ParkChat Can I put in a shameless plug for our blog? 😉 We mostly cover national parks and RVing with some other travel mixed in.

A9) #ParkChat We’d love to one day write a guide book for visiting all 400+ units of the National Park Service… but not until we are able to retire from our current teaching jobs. Our RV book was hard enough to write while working (and trying to travel)!

That’s exactly why we gave up on the passport and just keep our own checklist 😂 #ParkChat

A5) ohhhh… that’s a tough one! Honestly, could go either way. But we already know we want to visit all the parks, so I’ll say we’re more likely to read about a park after visiting. #ParkChat

A3) We usually just carry a map and maybe a hiking guide. Too much other gear in our packs already! #ParkChat

“Dear Bob and Sue” by Matt and Karen Smith is entertaining, as well! #ParkChat

Interesting article for sure. Some fair points. Could definitely be a good conversation starter!

Howdy! Checking in from Atlanta, GA!

A6 #ParkChat We are planning our first road trip into Canada (British Columbia). Probably won’t be there for long and not sure what all we’ll do while there but we are really looking forward to it! Also planning to attend THE Oktoberfest in Munich 🍻

A5 #ParkChat We are hoping to get to the remote southwest corner of Yellowstone NP this summer. And really looking forward to more camping inside the parks in our van!

We really want to do a houseboat at Voyageurs as well!

A4 #ParkChat We loved Lassen Volcanic NP - lots of different features. Pretty sure they’ve mostly recovered from the fire a few years ago, so should be a good time to visit. And it’s remote, so a good place to escape the craziness of the world!

We were looking forward to visiting Channel Islands last week but scraped it due to the atmospheric river. Will probably try to plan our “makeup” trip for Warner weather so we can do more!

A3 #ParkChat We have enjoyed visiting the Presidential home sites, many of which are in big(ish) cities. This summer, we enjoyed the TR Inauguration site in Buffalo, NY. Out of the 70-something NPS sites we still haven’t visited, many are in big cities, so we hope to visit some this year.

And Grant’s outfitting shop name would be “Ends of the Earth” because we’d sell gear you would take to go to the ends of the Earth.

A2 #ParkChat We bought a camper van in February (sold the trailer we had for 9 years) - that was our big “gear” update this year. We are always looking for new gadgets and gear to try for camping and hiking. In particular, we LOVE our Rumpl blankets!

A1 #ParkChat We have mixed feelings. Not fans of the price gouging for non US residents. We are expecting it to affect tourism, which could impact the gateway communities big time. But, we’ve paid roughly $25-30 each for just 1 day at NPs in other countries and our parks are often overcrowded.

That’s a really cool site, too!

It is!

Not yet… everything we have read says you have to have a 4WD to visit. We don’t have one this trip.
