I also ran into Gene Siskel, around 1990 when I was 14. my family was by the paddock at Arlington looking at the horses, I wasn’t looking where I was going and almost knocked him over. He was very gracious. Poor guy was apparently getting run over on the regular.

For sure. He’d spent 22 years being told he was a genius. The thing that got me was that he also spent that whole time claiming he had all 9 movies already written, which was clearly not the case.

100% agree. Something I’ll go to my grave believing is if George either got Kershner & Kasdan to do the prequels based off his story or if he did a couple Willow movies to warm up first they’d be right up there with the OT. A lot of what went wrong was 20 yrs of rust.
