1/3 Why do so many parents only realize they’re autistic or ADHD after their child is diagnosed? Because children are not clay to mold. They are mirrors genetic, ancestral, unflinching.

But no one knows when that is, cos 1 minute I’m writing essays at 3am, next plotting beef with your grandma.

Whatever superpowers y’all claim we have…YOU end up becoming tge kryptonite we have to wade through.

We aren’t new. 🫵🏾 are tiring.

Spencer Small grant team - T. Austin, D. James & A. Raysor smile for Zoom photo "Thank you for submitting your proposal, “They is me!”: Redefining ‘Traditional’ Students Through
Narratives of Black World Language Teachers, for presentation at the 2026 American Association
for Applied Linguistics Conference. We are pleased to inform you that your submission has been
selected for inclusion in the conference program as an individual paper.
As a reminder, you submitted this proposal for the following conference:
Chicago: March 21-24 2026
This year we received more than 2400 proposals for consideration. Decisions were reached after
an extensive review process involving 54 strand coordinators, 647 peer reviewers, and the
conference organizing committee. Due to the limitations placed on us by scheduling and space, the
acceptance rate for submissions was quite competitive. So, warm congratulations! Look for more
information after November 6, 2025."

Mark Zuckerberg has a vision for how A.I. could be used in Meta's universe.

But the actor and filmmaker Joseph Gordon-Levitt is here to point out a flaw in the technology: an apparent lack of guardrails around how the company's chatbot interacts with underage users. nyti.ms/3ILwCNo

The answer is always more testing, never tackling the root causes. Better resourcing, and better pedagogy through an educational rather than an attainment focus needed.

One Neoliberal approach to mitigating the optics of mass layoffs is to give the laid off some free counselling on their way out the door. Emotional resources as human resources. Reminds me of all the cupcakes folks are given when their contract isn't renewed.

I've uploaded a free preprint for a forthcoming article, Mad Pride in Revolutionary England: The Ranters as Mad Actvism. It will be published in History Workshop Journal next year. I'm proud of this and see it as the start of a new, much bigger project.

“When I am ready, I speak by dancing or writing.
It’s easier than speaking.”

This statement isn’t about what’s missing. It’s about what’s present, movement, silence, dance, writing. All of it matters.
