I wish it was legal to buy land and build housing on the land that you own.

This is why I won't vote for Murray again, even though I think she's doing a good job. We can't rely on 80+ year olds to keep democracy alive.

I spoke to a real person at Delbene's office though
March 10, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Both of them sent me to voice mail. I called their DC offices; did you call local ones?

Just called Murray, Cantwell, and DelBene

Expanding Medicaid in red states would be a huge victory.

Again, two things that are true: there are genuine frustrations and legitimate criticisms of Dems out there, and there is an entire social media infrastructure trying to get you to be mad at Dems rather than the GOP for their own clicks and $

I think right now we aren't looking for politicians who can write good laws, manage complex organizations, whip votes, or negotiate deals behind the scenes. We're looking for catharsis. And I'm on the fence about whether we're right to want that.

I'm also glad that 12th and Jackson has bus service again, as opposed to when it was cut off because that area was an open air drug market.

I like that I can wait for the bus at 3rd and Pike without seeing people overdose on the sidewalk, which was not true last year.

Pro tip: Set your LinkedIn location to Seattle and you'll get 1000x more interest, even for remote jobs. Then take advantage of Seattle salary + Portland costs (and Portland food)

Jayapal is good, but I'd love to see a primary challenge against Adam Smith. He's not awful but I think we could do much better.

Murray's good but I think she's too old for another term. We need to stop electing people who will be 80+ in office

The biggest thing Oregon needs to focus on is housing costs, so they don't lose a congressional seat in 2030: thearp.org/blog/apporti...

Just go rip the fucking fence down and tell that unelected, random board of nobodies to kiss your ass

Is anyone in Olympia working to make the legislature meet more than once per year? It seems crazy to sit on our hands for ten months because we missed our chance.

I don't want to primary Jayapal, but Murray is 74. If she's re-elected in '28, she'll be serving in her 80s. We need new blood.

Do you think AOC is an exception to this trend?
