A person overly concerned with books. Stories published in Translunar Travellers Lounge, We're Here 2021 (Neon Hemlock), Strange Machines (Apex), Nature Futures.
I don't know why the media isn't shining light on this truly stellar set of guidelines (leads directly to a PDF cartoon, everyone, a cartoon):

Nothing like lubricating your toilet rat with soap.

That's my point.

Either my eyes or my phone would need to work better and given the current era, I suspect neither will.
December 19, 2025 at 12:20 AM
Sorry, I think I accidentally stacked under your post! Whole thing is making me very angry (not at you or OP).

There's LLMs that do skeet-level publicity campaigns, so why not fire half the publicity team and pay a junior publicist to clean up the muck? Etc. Writers have been screwed over first and hardest by this but there's a lot of the industry vulnerable to this.

But translators get an hourly or wordcount-based project wages and that can be reduced if you're just "cleaning up" (ie, rewriting, but we're pretending it's unskilled now) slop. Same with copyeditors.

Doesn't matter if the results are objectively worse as long as you (the person in the c-suite) can pay the people who would have done it a third of their old wage to clean it up, while gloating about how your customers have no alternatives and you're uniquely qualified to rake in millions.

No one knows their geology these days!

A novella is a type of small, smooth rock typically found in riverbed sedimentation in parts of North America. I thought everyone knew this.

It's so disappointing to learn that my favorite browser has decided to render itself dysfunctional as a line item in its new CEO's resume. This shows such a poor understanding of user needs.
December 17, 2025 at 3:19 AM
But I don't want a new browser! Why, Mozilla, why have you betrayed me?

This is going to end with me learning Linux or something, I can tell.

Also, if your senator voted against it, like mine, you can always call to thank them and explain how horrified you are that 28 democratic senators are fine with this bill.

I see an ear, but maybe he plans to come back for it?

Half Cup does a great brunch. Dishoom is also really good for any meal, and cocktails. The Rabbits Hole bar is in a closed tube station. If you want really excessive chocolate, Dark Sugars in Shoreditch is great and it's just a few blocks from a Bangladeshi place called Charista.

It's true! I just want to make sure everyone knows they should not overlook your book recs for people they care for the way they might overlook the goat. Also I'm reading Inventing the Renaissance right now and it's so good.

... taxing billionaires at 90% might be good for people's blood pressure, though.

I don't even know where to start with this. It's like he described our current system, made up a few things about other countries, and then said "And that would be bad if that happened, don't you think? I'm looking out for you!"

I'm sorry to have been online enough to know this; they heavily materially support an extremely anti-LGBTQ+ evangelical church.

Now I feel about them the same way I do about Goulet (eyes an ink exclusive I bought from them less than a week before hearing about their drama and sighs).
December 11, 2025 at 8:34 PM
Wearingul nicely fills the sparkly ink niche.
December 11, 2025 at 8:28 PM
I've really loved the few inks I bought from them, and I'm never going to buy from them again because I have standards and giving money to assholes who constantly asshole publicly to materially harm whole populations with many fewer resources than they themselves have breaks that standard.
