Using one chonkey toolbar to summon another chonkey toolbar.

By default, Admin Bar Component scrolls horizontally when you have too many items on it, but with a little CSS you can stack the items inside the buttons area. The next update to Admin Bar Component will fix things like the logout button to make this look better.

Noodling around with another Admin Bar feature to save Craft CMS developers a few clicks. Enable the debug toolbar on the front end from the front end.

This year was a success! A little on the salty side, but overall we got 4 tasty batches. I asked my younger kid for flavor ideas and we went with two types of BBQ sauce, our usual cayenne/sugar, and for the wildcard we did a vanilla flavor using vanilla extract.

🥃 Admin Bar for Craft CMS 5.7.1 is out with a quick update to how API requests are displayed. The progress bar now fits the theme you choose and flashes to green when a successful API request is made. It'll flash red on error (like when Admin Bar can't reach the CMS).

If the full bar color is too much, the height of the bar is adjustable in CSS. Also, the colors of the 3 states (blue, green, and red) are customizable to fit with your website's branding 💅

Yay or nay?

POV: you make an API call from your admin toolbar and the toolbar is a visual progress bar.

The attribute values for this can be:

Display progress in blue: 0-99

Success in green: 100

Failure in red: -1

After a bunch of tiny tweaks and design iterations I'm proud of my simple little toolbar component. I have some ideas for markup optimizations and a few new features, but I'm happy with the current design and how flexible it is to change it.

Okay, this was sort of an accidental thing that happened when moving through Live Photos on the Photos app of my iPhone. I'd caption this:

" you might be wondering how I got here.." 🐶

The last of my UniFi cameras is up! This one took a while to run Ethernet from the basement through the exterior of the house, plus I didn't want to permanently install it into the soffit because it might need to move in the future. Painted aluminum worked for a nice temporary mounting setup.

Okay `contrast-color()` is going to be very cool! Here's an example of how `color-mix()` can be used along with `contrast-color()` to set `color` and `background-color` properties from one color variable.

Today I got to see some art from a friend of mine in person. He's been working on this series for a while now and just got several pieces placed in a local gallery.

If you dig it, check out his in-progress stuff here: www.instagram.com/mark_stone_...

Popover + CSS Anchor Positioning on Safari Tech Preview is sooo close now. I still see weird buggy things like this, but it's come a long way over this summer!

I'm slowly working my way off of HomeKit for some things. A few months ago I re-did all my home networking and moved over to Ubiquiti's gear for my switches and WiFi. Today I installed the first 2 cameras to replace ones that used HomeKit Secure Video.

I'm still trying to find a good balance for this glassy effect for Admin Bar Component. Here's where I got to last night:

- More contrast by default
- Saved some KB removing image background
- Playing around with SVG filters for distortion
- (IMPORTANT) Still opt out with just CSS variables

This change did introduce some breaking CSS changes and they are noted in the CHANGELOG.md file in the repo. It should only affect those who were overriding some of the "glass"-specific variables, but if you run into issues please let me know.

First time making the trip to see family members with the 2025 ID.4 and the more efficient motor made a big difference.

At 100% in my 2022 ID.4 I could get up to about 240 miles, and in taking this trip I always would need to charge on the way. This time I made it without a charge!
