my windows taskbar had its icons randomly disappear only to reappear the second I copied Fedora Linux onto a USB drive to overwrite my current OS (cant be bothered with troubleshooting since I have nothing on this laptop & important stuff tomorrow). did I just scare windows into working??????????

now that every music platform has no songs/sends 3 trillion to fund war crimes/contains strange jank/actively tries to extort you, I think I'm gonna go back to downloading MP3s to my phone (but testing out Soulseek this time). might actually be better cuz of the lossless FLAC uploads available.

it's really funny how literally every aspect of the user experience on Microsoft's own tablet hardware is 3x better on Linux (provided you use Gnome)

My bad for not posting for a week. Compiled firefox 128.5.0 and then ended up recompiling it because I forgot to use the --deep argument while updating my packages with Portage. If all goes well I'll post again in Q3 2028 when my Linux kernel and GCC finish compiling! (⌒▽⌒)☆

The Microsoft Surface Pro tablets are looking appealing actually (the non-ARM-based ones) especially with the custom Surface linux kernel. Might just use Artix + GNOME on that for touchscreen efficiency
are thinkpads the only real option for really cheap laptops that don't have utterly dogshit specs (intel celeron, essentially), or are there better alternatives? i'm thinking of getting a cheap laptop for travel & fucking around with Linux (probably will install Artix on it)

for all the struggle that my Linux installs have caused over the past few months, it really is nice not having to boot from a USB every time I want to re-jailbreak my iOS devices & being able to do it from an app
