All I've learned in 4 years of focusing on decentralized identity, is that companies truly could not care if someone else owns their name on the blockchain.

You can type Walmart.eth into a crypto wallet or Venmo/PayPal (in the US) and it will resolve. That's not Walmart. More brand impersonation.
