Gladys: Welp, that convo with my husband made me feel irritated and powerless. Time to visit Alice and pay it forward.

where are all the movie skeletons coming from? India. There's been a ban on that since 1986 but they still trickle out. Thankfully fake skeletons are better now and cheaper... but yeahhhhh

But I'm an adult. Sesame Street is 60 years old and it has had many eras. My kids loved it on HBO, they love it on Netflix. So, what do I know?

If you guessed C, congrats! It's totally about costumes!! Nothing else, costumes are awesome and fun

Is this episode's theme:

A. Helping others
B. Big feelings
C. Wearing costumes

There ARE episodes that have a theme, but it's sooo weak.

Example: Elmo misses his dad, so Grover uses a suitcase to change into Super Grover. 11 minutes later, Grover discovers that the suitcase is irrelevant - Elmo just needs a friend to sit and be sad with.

But now there's no central theme. 11 minutes of new stuff, then the rest is recycled clips that have nothing to do with it. It makes no sense now.

They got rid of the letter and number of the day and honestly... fine, whatever. HBO had it as a vestigial attachment to the older hourlong episodes, but it's irrelevant in a 25 minute show.

The new 123 segment can't seem to figure out if it's ripping off Dr. Seuss or trying to stay grounded in reality.

1. I hate the little animated accents. If two people are hugging, hearts aren't needed. If someone is jumping up and down and excited, starbursts are distracting. The act IS the emotion, it doesn't need more emphasis.

Then someone else who isn't motivated by greed can start selling PastOreos. Lower price, better quality. Beset by the burdens of a small business at first, until a community forms.

Maybe they can post their Oreo formula from 2006. The one with the creamy, sugary, flakey middle. The chocolate crunch that split without crumbling.

3. Absolutely everything else was squeezed out of these products at this point. They're workhorses. They still have big budgets, so they're cutting back on other stuff. First on product size, then packaging quality. Finally, flavor.

2. Tariffs have fucked up the supply chain, so these corporations are paying more in the short term (the worst possible time to have poor profits!)
November 21, 2025 at 5:12 AM
Several reasons for this:

1. Most major food corporations are publicly traded, so costs are cut back and product quality suffers
