I’ve an award winning podcast about all that’s weird and a little off kilter in the town of Biggleswade and Bedfordshire. History with a pinch of the paranormal, folklore & urban legends. I also like cake, cats, beating bosses and disability rights.
I headed over to the harbour side of Newquay earlier. I remember watching fireworks from here during Newquay 1900s week. It was such a great way to learn about the past. A festival of history.

I thought you might enjoy some waves. Defo sound on; it was amazingly still with little wind where I was filming.

I’ve been out recording audio today. Fabulous views and more rainbows. I spent a lot of time mooching around the bronze and Iron Age site at Trevelgue head / Porth Island.

A morning of reminiscing, fresh sea air and book buying at the brilliant Clemo Books. A small but perfectly stocked indie bookshop. It’s a hard recommend from me. Books bought: Phantoms of Kernow and 13 Cornish Ghost Stories. Also got tipped off about local ghosts. 👻

Some photos from my train journey today.

St James’ Park was looking suitably spooky yesterday afternoon. No sign of the headless red lady, sadly.

I’m going on an adventure!

I grabbed some lunch at Jones’ Coffee Shop and the steam from my green tea and sunlight created some cool ghostly shapes.

Today I have mainly been writing about green ladies for a future episode of Weird in the Wade. Invariably assoicated with water, these green lady ghosts reminded me of the photograph I took of this delightlul green girl (Alice in Wonderland) at Petwood Hotel in Lincolnshire.

I found a delicate snowdrop growing at Peterborough train station today. Snowdrops are associated with Imbolc and Candlemass. The Victorians thought it unlucky to pick them and bring them in the house. Maybe a lesson to children to leave the delicate flowers blooming for everyone else to enjoy.

Of course I played Pokemon Go in the graveyard this afternoon. It was so peaceful and the birdsong was lovely.

You can’t beat a good church door. This is the church at Donington Lincolnshire where explorer Matthew Flinders is now buried. His original grave was uncovered beneath Euston train station when HS2 work began. Hence the train in the memento mori panel.

When in Bedford this week I visited the fabulous Eagle books and bought this 1923 edition of A College Mystery by A P Baker . Set at Christ College Cambridge it’s presented as a true ghost story. But not all is at it seems with this book. 1/2

I’ve still not caught up with my sleep after the haunted pub sleepover! It was such fun.
I’m back in Lincolnshire visiting my parents, to celebrate my Mum’s birthday today.
Bella the pod-dog thinks she should get a present too. I gave her a chewy 😊

Last night I recorded audio from a paranormal investigation at the Golden Pheasant pub in Biggleswade. I was joined by a lively group, some of whom you will recognise as guests on Weird in the Wade. One of the images is of Olie Campbell playing guitar in the bar at around 2am. 1/2

After a hospital appointment earlier I popped into the Higgins Bedford. I thought I’d share a couple of photos. The first of the house. The second showing how the house is joined onto the old brewery (red brick building) with a modern extension.
No ghostly goings on today 👻

This monkey toy that hands could grip creeped both me and my brother out. I swore I could hear him breathing at night. My brother said he moved by himself. He’s long gone to the toy box in the sky!

Does a ghostly child m ride this rocking horse? It has been seen ricking all by itself. Want to hear more? Listen to the latest episode of Weird in the Wade wherever you get your podcasts.
Did you have a toy as a child that gave you the creeps? I’ll share mine in the comments

I met up with Olie and Mike for a chat about a top secret project today. Don’t worry you’ll get to hear all about it soon and it’s for Weird in the Wade’s 1st anniversary in May!
