In the short term, though, it means that if you're a professional of any stripe, you have to find a way to stay afloat outside of corporate work, because the corporations are cutting you out.

For the moment, you need maybe one person to do absolutely awful content and marketing -- the rest is just profits for founders and VC and shareholders.

In the long term, this means UBI just to prop up the cycle of capitalism OR the collapse of the whole system and something humane replacing it.

This doesn't require customers to actually care, so it also doesn't require anything better than AI-generated content and marketing... so it increasingly doesn't require employees, either.

And since none of them actually MAKE THINGS, there's really no one involved except shareholders.
