This was millennials fifteen years ago when we killed shit restaurant chains (not the fact that they charged $25 for microwave quality food in a carpet mold Petri dish).

If past is precedent, bars will survive. We still have Applebees in the year of our lord two thousand twenty-six.
"zoomers are killing the bar industry" oh interesting was it zoomers who decided a drink should cost seventeen dollars

If people finally recognize that class warfare is the only issue, they won’t forget after one or two elections
The next election (and the one after that) isn’t about R vs D, it’s about the working class vs the #EpsteinClass

Anyone currently involved in federal immigration enforcement, every officer, every bureaucrat, every lawyer, every judge, is a member of the most evil group of people this country has seen since Reconstruction. Darkness personified, every one. Doing this to children is beyond depraved.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Sir, you're no Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg.
He’s giving Gary Oldman in The Fifth Element without the cute.

these people are hilarious.

I mean, the aliens/gods/ghosts watching are probably amazed at the first-take comic timing of these champions of black humor.

For Americans... look, this is very funny.

It's hard to laugh when the comical incompetents can have your whole family killed is all.
Q: Can you confirm that CBP actually hit a party balloon it thought was a drone with a laser? And why wasn't that coordinated with the FAA?

KRISTI NOEM: You know, this was a joint agency task force, um, mission that was undertaken. And um, we're continuing to work on communication

It's only hypocrisy if you don't know that the project is rules and laws protect ME and not YOU and rules and laws control YOU and not ME.

Taxpayers and ICE targets and poor people and democrats are on the other side of the line, where breaking laws gets you punished but laws do not protect you.
Trump is suing for privacy violations about his tax returns while his administration shares taxpayers’ data with ICE. The height of hypocrisy has a price tag: $10 billion. Maybe it’s time for a class-action lawsuit from the taxpayers too. 🔄

Update from the job hunt: Companies are increasingly uninterested in appealing to customers. The game is to use AI and bots to boost the appearance of popularity to get bought by the increasingly monopolistic ubercompanies that then borrow cheap money to buy their own stock and line their pockets.

My 9 year old is into The Hunger Games books right now, and he asked what happened after historical rebellions.

Me: after the Civil War we basically let the rebels keep on truckin' and eventually align with the ruling class.

He doesn't think we should've hunger gamesed them, but also not that.

This mid-decade redistricting thing is a microcosm of how this will probably all end -- they are evil and overreach to protect their evil, people actually respond and push back and take some action, their evil is too incompetent to work, but the push back stands.... and progress.
After a couple of hours of failed spin, the GOP has now acknowledged it lost and needs either a new lawsuit or to try to go to SCOTUS. I predicted this an hour ago.

I can safely say, the new "legal action" will fail and Virginia voters will decide.

On one hand, obviously among the best possibilities... on the other, if THIS, NOW is the backlash to a black man -- this decade of nightmare murder fascism -- what do we get if we elect a Latina? If nonfascists ever get back into office, they have to cut out the fascism or it'll be worse next time.
