Have an involuntary pause on painting till Fri/Sat, as had to order new brushes... so got distracted with rebasing instead. Had some Shewolves for ages, they'd been shoe-horned into the World Eaters, but last week I discovered Chaos Skinwolves.

So... welcome to Old World ladies.

A pic of four Raging Heroes toughest Girls of the Galaxy Werewolves, rebased onto 50mm squares. Another unit to join my fledgling Chaos army, been working my armies in pairs, so first was O&G vs Dwarf which I have just started painting, currently putting together Cathay vs Warriors of Chaos. Regarding the Shewolves, they had been in limbo for ages before I added them to the World Eaters last year, but I was using them as tbh who knows what, I had partially made up my own unit, but the Skin Wolves fits them much better... one of the models had a rear leg that stuck out too far, although I like a fair bit of the Raging Heroes designs, they don't always consider how well a model fits on a base. So she was even too long for the 60mm bases they were on previously so I had her on a Necron Shield that stuck out at the back... this rebase has her rear foot on something much more impressive. :D

Just this really strange horror that stuck with me for years when I was younger, probably as my parents let me as a eight year old watch it. 😅
Movie poster for the 1977 film Snow Beast. It's so low budget and they spend so much time avoiding showing the monster I do wonder if it was a TV movie, but it scared the heck out of 8yr old me. :D

GW been telling me I had a £10 voucher about to expire (can't even remember how I got it tbh) so grabbing some bases and thought I'd just check while I was there... and the blinkin Fanatics were finally in stock, been OOS every order I've made this year (only 4 tbf)... so yay.

A pic of my order screen for some bases and my Fanatic box... edited of course. However yeah, only had 3 resin Fanatics for my Goblin Army, so basically one unit, this box will let me add another six for three units total, five from the box itself and a conversion with my spare Gobbos and this box. My Night Gobbo army will finally start to feel more Night Gobbo. :D

Had to head out unexpectedly earlier, but after getting back, have started some skin tones going on the first wave. Had excess of the green mix left over so have added the Troll Hag to the painting pile.

Really pleased with the starting tone on the Giantess.

A picture of the models I showed earlier with their initial skin tones, Giantess has a mix flesh tone and then a Sepia wash over it, while the Goblins and the Troll hag share a base green mix I made up, but then five different green shades/tones were used to give them some variety.

Sharing another pic as they are now out of the box (and it was obscuring them quite a lot) got a couple of jobs to do, but then plan on painting this afternoon/evening.

Took the Store thumbnail pic from my review (as all listings are down atm as they are on a break) and blew it up so you can see the model before my minor conversions. As a note, for mine I added a Black Orc shield shoulder pad, a Night Goblin bad moon shield as a talisman around her neck, a Banner (not 100% which set, maybe Beastmen) as a larger loincloth/lower tabard thingy, changed an axe for a spiked club from a Troll model I had, and some arrows sticking into her. I also had a search on Etsy and couldn't find her under either the name I mentioned in the post, or under lady/female Giant, so either it is as I am remembering their own design, or they are one of only a select few stores selling her for some reason. They also had another selection of Giants in this style, I think they are stand ins for the AoS Giant army, I can't recall them all that well, but my feeling is most of them aren't up on Etsy either.

Feels like I haven't painted in a while, been busy with other things, but I have a real strong inspiration to finally get started with my Old world O&G army. Really want to see how the Giantess and the mounted Shaman turn out.

Still spending at least a bit of time each day adding another couple of layers of bricks before letting it dry. The tower wall is starting to get towards the top, and managed to make pretty good looking arches on the highest and last two windows. 😊

The continued work on my chruch for Mordheim/Frostgrave, a few more rounds of brickwork down and arches around the rear two windows. I have one of my original Mordheim pieces from back in the late 90s early 00s which I will share alongside this one when I'm done, the difference is quite shocking already.

For those wondering about the terrain piece I started for the Nerdlings comp last month, still moving along, a lot of it now has brickwork to the roof point and the porch has its done too, a lot higher on the tower, but still more to go.

A pic of the ruined church as its continued construction moves onward. Can see I've started the tricky stage of brickwork around the lip of the inner tower (above what would be the inside that has collapsed below... I'm thinking its going to have beams places below as if folks loyal to the church have done their best to support what's left of the tower, but will see how it goes, once the roof is in place that will also explain why that part just didn't collapse. A shot of the other side of the church showing the continued brickwork climbing slowly up the rear of the tower.

What was funny is I started calling her that, and then got the Razor Anecdote, which cemented the name even further, we love her. Sadly its likely going to be a while before I can roll for her banner amd actually get her as a playable character, but when she does come back, Oh believe me I will be saving up Primos and coins that month. :) Oh and for those wondering why we consider the 'Disaster Mom' thing funny, its because she is so socially aloof, disjointed from Human Society, but she can't stop adopting children, she's really a sweetheart under all the pomp and circumstance of the Adepti.

A selection of my eldest Son's Death Guard, painted by me for him (he loves the games and lore, but not much interest in the hobby side as yet) these are battle ready at the moment, do plan on revisiting them at some point.
The icky and damp Death Guard, a selection of models from Thor's army, including converted Plague zombies, so Marines, a Terminator Champion and a Nurgling.

I got the shield bearer guy (cop? 🙃😅) and the S-tier (I assume 5star equivalent) Maid lady with the little bots... was I just extremely lucky or is that pretty normal for ZZZ, hard to tell if she was just a Noelle equiv.

Its fun though, will play off and on.

And its done, took a slight bit longer & still have some bits to sort on the table, but the new set up is done. Moved Contrast to my little shelf above the wacom, Shades are in the rack by the lamp, all other paints on that shelf to left. Hopefully this fits me better.

A pic of the new set up, have maneuvered modelling area/painting area to the left, all my standard paints are on that shelf on the left with two vertical painting racks at the back, Shades on clear rack in front by the lamp and all Contrast now on shelf above the Wacom. The key change her is having the Wacom permanently set up rather than hidden away, as I'd often think, hmm in the mood to draw and then realized I needed to get it all out and set up and didn't bother. My Keyboard and monitor are now dead centre on the corner, which while typing this feels a lot better, so happy with that change. I have lost some modelling space with the new set up, and I doubt the bases pots will stay in those spots long term, but I am doing more model construction in the living room anyway, and in fact moved the larger green cutting mat into the living room, and brought the smaller one in here to bridge the gap under the shelf to the desk.

So my plan for the next 2 days (was hoping just today but work later this afternoon might scupper plans) is to try and make this a more useful space. The key thing is setting up my Digi-art pad so it has a permanent location. (bottles are weighing down a terrain base)

Only got a couple in red, my Word Bearers section for Imperialis and my often shared Blood Queen hero for 40K.

Really need to get a Evil Sunz Ork/unit painted for next time red comes up. 😅

Aye, I found them useful for getting lady versions for Necromunda gangs that didn't have any official GW versions, but they are clearly still heavily 'inspired' by the GW factions in question, so would also be up for litigation.

Got some more painting done today, still having a end of summer sort, trying to get places sorted before winter sweeps in, so been busy most of the time.

Orks are slowly getting there, and the War council Nobz mob is catching up to the other mobz.

Also in a 'why haven't I always been doing this' moment, as they were out I based the Nobz, and then went over their feet with a white mix to get rid of any brown splash, so bases done and now ready for colour with no cross contamination. 😅

The old trusty 'base mat' is out again to protect the modelling area, already did a Rhinox Hide/Cygor Brown mix on the bases, now going over again with Cygor for extra depth. only managed a few each side as work is approaching, will do the rest later.

Enjoying painting the Orks so much I have grabbed another unit out of the box to get colour on. Due to the whole 'all Clans' Ork army plan, the first Nobz Mob is a 'Council of Waaagh!' a powerful 'Advisor' Nob from each Clan led by Kaptain Waaagh! himself.

A picture of the Nobz unit in the Ork army, a selected group of hardened warriors from each Clan, come together to advise the Warlord, led by the infamous Kaptain Waaagh! himself (Is it really an Ork army if you haven't parodied the Captain Ameri-ork' conversion) Blood Axe nob is a long range shooter and Komms specialist, Evil Sunz is a gunslinger speedster, the Goff is a hardened Warrior who loves things close and personal, the Bad Moon has the best tech he can afford, the Death Skull is a legend among other Skulls for the loot he has acquired and the Snakebite weirds his ancient feral axe as well as any Mek enhanced power choppa. Kaptain Waaagh! with his boon of extreme strength from Gork and Mork themselves, wields his shield as effectively as a Power Klaw, using it to shred other foes.
