“Easy… People are asleep,” Nikolas said, smiling peacefully. “Do you need a hand?”
Kil looked at Nikolas, then at his sister, and finally at Jans, who was snoring at their feet, unaware of the danger.
“What do you think?” Kil said, twisting Jans’s ankles.
“Jans is a friend,” Nikolas chuckled. “If I can help…” He gave them a crooked half-bow, and it was immediately clear that he was not used to bending.
“We need a carriage,” Kilian said, ignoring the twisting sensation in his gut.”
