Lover of all things strange and unusual. Aspiring game dev and auteur.
Took a stab at recreating that underlighting trick a lot of older anime and cartoons used. Think I got it pretty good, always liked the vibe that lighting gave. #Godot #GameDev

Got a 3D printer recently for a project, and while still waiting on some parts for the project I've naturally been messing with it and did my first big print today. Just over 12 hours for this boyo. There's a few imperfections.. But I'm happy with it.

Without downloading any new pictures, where are you mentally?

Made up a super basic vaulting / climbing system last night. Pressing space near a short obstacle you climb up, holding space let's you climb taller ones. #Godot

There's something really amusing about Spotify hosting The Conet Project and having almost 6k active listeners.

If anyone wants to check it out, it's free on my Itch: weremuffin.itch.io/light-in-the...

Later this week I'll show 1st main project: My 2D Yume Nikki inspired game. Until then here's a shot of Mem from it. #Godot #Gamedev

I have been asked before if I'd continue it or remaster it.. Likely not. I got what I wanted out of it, even if I didn't execute all of my ideas I wanted for it. I'd rather put my time toward new projects and go with what I learned making this. #Godot #Gamedev

I definitely spent too long working on the house itself, but I love how it feels inside. The game is very short (5m tops), as well I had a lot of ideas that I pared back on by a lot so I could make the time.
Ultimately, I adore the mood and isolation as the sandstorm hits. #Godot #Gamedev

So far it's my only released game. You play as someone about to leave for work when a sandstorm rolls in and are told to shelter in place. Movement is grid based with a point and click sorta first person view. Roam around your home and.. you seem to not be alone... #Godot #Gamedev

Mostly been sharing little scenes / idea tests, so let's finally share a couple my actual projects. I won't post them all at once just to y'know reduce spam sorta thing.
We'll start off with: Light in the Desert.
This was made for the DreadXP Extraterrestrial Terror Jam in a week. #Godot #Gamedev

Been in an Been in an alien mood lately what with all the sightings I've been reading about. I really liked the look of this ship reported in 2010 and decided to try recreating it in #Godot. (Sighting: web.archive.org/web/20100718...)

Listen.. some times you gotta name a variable something that makes a lot of sense at the time. Key word: "At the time". (Debug script that is used to get the active map) #godot #gamedev

Bleh.. I really ought to finish the redo of my website.. Plan is aside from being the main venue for my "analog horror stream theme", it's also a library of stuff I've saved over the years.

Oh damn. Getting home the fog looks wild too as it's on the edge of the city. Big wall of just fog.
November 15, 2024 at 2:38 AM
Some pretty sweet fog as my partner and I head home. Got a bit of a.. ahem.. liminal vibe. woOoOoOoOooOoo

Started playing WEBFISHING and was surprised to see a rain cloud float on by. Would love to see a Day/Night cycle in this game. Give me some orangey sunsets!

And another go playing a different video. This was actually my test video, genuinely the song never got old for me. Really love this vibe. So cozy. #Godot #GameDev

There's two things I'm doing here that #Godot doesn't normally let you do. (in fact it REALLY complains about one of them in the Debugger) Any guesses? (Answer in a followup post so as to not spoil) #GameDev

Uses 2 scenes / viewports. One is the level, the other is the skybox.
Used this tutorial for 3.5 but it translates super well to Godot 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDDyt8gdGGI

Messing with 3D Skyboxes(ala Source) in Godot, surprisingly easy to implement?! Here's a scene I made just to test it out. #gamedev #godot

Finally made myself a basic day / night system. Just to have the experience of making one, not in use for a project yet. #gamedev #godot

Toying with a deep under the sea game idea where you can adjust your player's full rotation. But implementing it by rotating the level around the player. This feels so non-euclidean it's really fucking with my head. #gamedev #godot
