I wasn’t watching, but my downstairs neighbor just started screaming HOLY SHIT repeatedly and I could not tell if that was a happy sports yell or a mad sports yell. Was mostly just hoping it WAS a sports yell!

That said, I did read about a study that found almost half of widows see/smell/hear/somehow experience a visit from their dead spouse at least once. There are obvious nonghost explanations, but it seems noteworthy!

That makes total sense to me. I joke about ghosts but haven’t seen any and I just don’t see how they would scientifically work if real. But places? I have experienced places that don’t want me there and places that do and places that are just…special/holy. Or the opposite.

That whole rental seems pretty cursed! But it could still be a *friendly* ghost. Or a very stealthy raccoon. Whichever lets you get better sleep.

I should note that I shared a pic with the family chat, then defensively explained that no, no stores in town sell menorahs, and then received my dad’s old menorah in the mail before Hanukkah even ended. So not a universally popular approach.

I looked this up the year I used birthday candles and gummy sharks and as far as I could find my gummy menorah was legit! You do have to make one candle visibly above/set apart from the rest (gummy whale).

One valid reason: They can’t distribute CSA images or videos. Some things in this type of investigation really should be limited to only those who need to see them (e.g. a jury). But that shouldn’t be an excuse for shielding the perpetrators.

We had wind last night, and between the rattling windows, crashing tree limbs and a dog making himself a panicked little spoon, I’m a zombie today. A zombie who has to take the long way around to get to my apartment because another tree limb is dangling threateningly pretty much above my door.

Not going to blame the dog for being scared of that noise!

Anyway, if you work for ICE or USBP and the job or the reaction of everyone you meet with any values is getting to you, you do have a better option: QUIT.

Yes! I didn’t spot the fakeness visually so much as logistically. Shelters want people to *think* about whether a dog is a good fit for their homes and lives. And how would they get all these people there for a dog lottery? In which the person with snacks in their bag goes home with 11 dogs.
