If you know of a student who is looking for a education post doc (now, odd timing I know), I may have an opportunity for them. They would be working Texas admin data so experience with that would be a big plus.

Just sharing a resource I’ve known about but only recently started using.

If you’re studying a federal policy, the Library of Congress has records of all proposed bills to amend it, whether or not they ever passed. Tons of ways this can be useful, but two I’ve found especially helpful:

Today is the final day of work for many dedicated, talented employees at the Institute of Education Sciences. I am thankful for their service, and I hope that they find new roles that continue their mission of supporting education research that serves as a public good.

Thread in the am but if you want the main takeaway: The 2024 Digest of Education Statistics (under the current administration) includes just 27 tables by the (Congressionally mandated) deadline—far fewer than the nearly 270, on average, published in prior years

The U.S. Department of Education is far behind on producing key statistics | Brookings
Federal education data releases have slowed dramatically, with major gaps in the 2024 Digest and Condition of Education report.

Excited to be attending the Triangle Economics of Education Workshop today! One of the best parts of living in North Carolina is the chance to connect with researchers across so many strong institutions. Looking forward to a day of thoughtful conversations and new ideas.

Graduation and Mother’s Day all in one weekend—hard to top that! Grateful for my wife, mom, advisor, family, and all the educators who made this possible.

If you missed this the first time—there's still time to sign up! I’ll start matching papers after Friday, May 16, so get yours in before then if you want to participate. The submissions so far are super exciting, and I can't wait to see more!
