It's irresponsible governance to have swooped in for photo-ops announcing emergency funding for repairing neglected infrastructure that failed, then to entrench the chronic underfunding that was its cause.

I don't like that they're planted right up to the sidewalk and then people don't keep them trimmed

Alas I am a prissy princess and I like being centrally located and able to walk everywhere (To the west of me is Kitsilano, Mt Pleasant is east, north is downtown, and south... well, I don't usually go south but I could if I wanted to)

Just anyone can print off some flyers and post them in public places

That's probably exactly some people's issue with it, like with not wanting improved transit because it will result in increased density along the transit route

Vancouver also limits their 4 storey apartment zoning to 35 feet 🫤

We need more family-sized ownership housing, not more studios for renters

If the the size and quantity of ADUs needs to be limited to prevent a rush of development overwhelming existing infrastructure, then planners have failed in two ways

Has Vancouver been very yimby for 15 years?
Having concentrated a lot of new housing with high density in brownfield redevelopments while not substantially changing the amount of new housing per population sounds pretty contrary to yimby goals.
Information on housing starts and completions from the Metro Vancouver Housing Data Book 2025. A chart shows gradually increasing numbers since 2000, but still below historic levels prior to 1990.
