It's irresponsible governance to have swooped in for photo-ops announcing emergency funding for repairing neglected infrastructure that failed, then to entrench the chronic underfunding that was its cause.

Has Vancouver been very yimby for 15 years?
Having concentrated a lot of new housing with high density in brownfield redevelopments while not substantially changing the amount of new housing per population sounds pretty contrary to yimby goals.

Information on housing starts and completions from the Metro Vancouver Housing Data Book 2025. A chart shows gradually increasing numbers since 2000, but still below historic levels prior to 1990.
