Coming back to this in the wake of the Alfonsi email about Weiss spiking the CECOT piece. People are PUTTING THEIR CAREER ON THE LINE TO PRODUCE FACTUAL REPORTING. It shouldn’t be this way, but it is. Talk about it. Don’t shut up.

The whole thing about Ghibli being the powerhouse studio that it is… is that they were able to make full on masterpieces that could both comfort AND antagonize the audience… pointedly! Those without the skill or nuance only see the comfort and dont want to/can’t face the harsher parts of the plots.
Hate hate hate the reduction of Ghibli's output into a vague aesthetic. Even before generative AI, people would talk about "cozy Ghibli vibes" stripped of all context, and now we're seeing where that gets us.

Today was an absolutely disgraceful day of leadership in our Executive branch… spineless, spiteful and historic in an awful way. God will have the last word on those that willingly turn their backs on the poor, the downtrodden, the weak and the hungry.

Being an American right now, is like being fused into the back of a pickup truck bed that just changed owners. The new owner doesnt go to a mechanic, he goes to his buddy that “knows cars” and starts sawing out parts like “you dont need this, you dont need that!” —-

Say what you want about songs/politics and whatnot but that was easily the best camera direction/Choreo I’ve seen in a superbowl halftime in years, it was objectively a really well done and well paced performance.

The HTTYD Live action looks like a really well done fan project…. Made in a few weeks…. With a lack of creative direction for the costuming and hair… yeah it looks awful.
