Just got out of the Chainsaw Man movie. Blown away (pun intended). I found the TV series a little too buttoned up and serious in its color palette and tone, but the Reze movie makes all the right kind of changes to bring out the charm of Fujimoto's work.

A Japanese friend told me he grew up way out in the countryside, in a town so remote that the train only comes two times an hour. Better train service than most US cities.

Overheard another foreign customer at a restaurant in Tokyo having trouble paying his bill (he was almost out of cash) and I jumped in to help translate with the staff. My spoken Japanese still isn't very good, but it's cool that it's at a level where I can handle this type of situation!

Done with meetings so I can finally take a breath and take it all in. We did it. Socialism will win.
I've got a bunch of publisher meetings in Tokyo this week, so I'll be at a work lunch while the results come in for the NYC mayoral election. Will take a lot of effort to not check my phone constantly.
