It's great to see action starting against dangerous pavement parking. Now we need: A clear definition of what "unreasonable obstruction" means; Effective ways to enforce against obstructive and dangerous parking; Enforcement against pavements being broken by heavy vehicles.

We love this time of the year, as it's one of the few occasions when staff, volunteers and trustees all get together at the Christmas Party.

So, last week it was an absolute pleasure to see everyone in-person to celebrate everything we've achieved this year and to let our hair down.

Yesterday, Wednesday 3rd December was International Day of Persons with Disabilities. To mark the day, Croydon Council put on a flag raising event at Croydon Town Hall.

Susie uses her electric tricycle as a mobility aid. Its particular size and set up allowed her to travel across the country and attend Fringe shows in ways that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. Read about her experience in the post slides!

If you had a cycle of your own, where would you go?

Where would you go?

This Summer, one of our former loan recipients took herself on her first solo trike adventure on a trip up to Edinburgh with her Van Raam Easy Rider Compact.

Wheels for Wellbeing are concerned by reports that the Chancellor is considering putting a maximum price for cycles allowed through the Cycle to Work scheme.

We are calling for the scheme to be reformed rather than capped.

We are concerned about recent talk about cuts to the Cycle to Work Scheme. Though the scheme has some limits, where other forms of transport present barriers to Disabled people, cycling can for some be a method of independent travel that is supported through the Cycle To Work Scheme.

We're hearing more and more cases where Disabled people are being denied the right to use safe powered mobility aids for essential mobility in their homes, workplaces, education, healthcare and transport settings.

Mobility isn't nice-to-have: it's essential.

Susie never got an opportunity to learn to cycle as a child, but took to it like a duck to water and was soon volunteering to share her new passion with others.

As an adult, she was introduced to cycling at an inclusive facility and began to regularly attend Wheels for Wellbeing sessions where she could have access to appropriate non-standard cycle, unavailable anywhere else.'
