Unfortunately, very true words. I’m glad that my mother-in-law who escaped the Nazis in Germany is not alive. She would be beside herself that it’s happening again. And I don’t use the word Nazi lightly

A frozen water storm. We’re used to snow storms but an ice storm is a whole different matter or frozen water storm. I hope people are taking it seriously.

You can’t look at it with any kind of sane intention because he is demented and ill. He’s using whatever opportunity he can to bully everybody, including other countries because as he says he can. But no rationality ever enters the equation. He is a demented, ill, old bully.

Yes, the Dems should and I so wish that I thought that more than a couple of them would. The difference is so clear and very easy to explain. I can’t even be somewhat optimistic because I took my rose colored glasses and put them down the garbage disposal sometime ago.

Awe…. I have a similar fuzzy critter on my lap, and I never doubt that cats are intelligent and very, very tuned in to what’s going on around them. I think that’s why he crawled up on my lap.

I guess it’s time to finally get a shingles shot. I have all of the others. And this year‘s flu variant looks like it’s going to take a tragic toll. I don’t plan on being out in public, but if I have to go anywhere, it’s going to be masked.

Couldn’t we just have Seal Team 6 dump him on one of those boats and act accordingly…. Just asking…

Has it ever been this bad? I’m glad that my mother-in-law isn’t alive so I could ask her if it reminded her of her parents being murdered by the Nazis. Same? Different? Or headed that way?

Happy Birthday… same age as my daughter. I’ve been watching what’s been going on since the civil rights marches in the 1960s and the Vietnam War. You do what you can to resist in protest and get involved in the process, locally and federally.

I meant to say Democrats not dumps, but maybe that’s what my brain was saying
November 10, 2025 at 4:59 AM
I live in New York, so you know who my reps are and it was great here locally for the Dems. I felt cheery for the first time in months. I have been waiting for the dumps to come out and say clearly and repeatedly and loud loudly why it was they weren’t going to cave in. Crickets. Crickets.

There was a brief bit of happiness with the election, and this feels like a kick in the head frankly.

And actually, I’m really fucking pissed off about it. So does my being fucking pissed off change anything nope. But I can change the fact that I keep reading things that fucking piss me off.

I’m not personally arguing anything. I shared it because it is being debated and argued about. However…. Damn time to leave Bluesky. Sharing something doesn’t mean I endorse it.

SSA… this is making the rounds. Too tired to read into it or to check out the legitimacy right now but possibility it’s correct and that would reframe things somewhat

Really? You are quiet and shy? Surprised to hear that. You probably wouldn’t be surprised to hear that I am not quiet or shy.

A gifted politician and an amazing woman.

If Bernie could actually get his ideas past for universal healthcare and taxing the rich and the rest of it, I would be all for that. But I’m a realist and that’s not going to fly for great swaths of the country. But I don’t see the Dems out there saying no this isn’t due to us. They need to explain

Nice job fish and wildlife. I’ve kind of smiled a few times in the last couple of days. I agree.
November 7, 2025 at 2:36 AM
I am a third generation teacher, and this made me smile. We need to support our schools and our teachers so that they’re not having to fund their own classrooms like I did for decades.

My point was that old people always vote. I was raised in the generation where you were taught to give something back to the community. Be it volunteering for like my husband who’s been a volunteer fireman EMT for decades. You live in a community and have a certain responsibility therefore.
November 7, 2025 at 12:14 AM
My husband and I were just talking about this. The Democratic Party has to look for younger leaders. That’s not to say that the older leaders have done a bad job and I know that’s up to debate but it’s time for younger people to take the policy direction to the next generation.

Three of my grandparents lost siblings to childhood illnesses that we now have vaccines for. Children suffered greatly and then they died. And that was a frequent occurrence. My maternal grandmother had polio as a child and had post polio issues for the rest of her life.

I am definitely in the OLD demographic, but have always been progressive. So you need us old folks too because we actually go out and vote in every single election. And if you look at the people at the polling places they are all my age. We participate and we vote. Your turn young people.

This made me happy tonight and it’s so hard to make me happy on any night anymore. Reading some of the testimony is an exercise in how low and ridiculous lawyers working for Trump will debase themselves. This is my happy face 😆
