Big day! Levels are now procedurally generated from a seed! From "paper" to realized!

Two weeks! Geez where does time go?!

- Peons become scavengers.
- Buildings can be scavenged for resources.
- New player character that walks around and shoots enemies.
- New damage component system.
- Addition of status effects that allow for new concept such as DOTs.

Added a custom shader to show creeps behind buildings. Helps players see where threats are coming from.

Starting to pull together some building and stylized Substance materials to get an overall art design feel going.

Spent a few days in Substance Painter learning how it works and making this procedural material! Happy with the stylize look. Needs some refinement, but I can move on to more models. Don't forget to come join me on Twitch!

Day night/cycle is hooked up to lights and the UI through the GameMode. Everything is synched through Event Dispatchers using some simple math to calculate sun and moon rotations.

Small update. Switched out old tile set assets with new ones. Did some fun math to spawn things like street lights based on a tile number (for proc gen). Added in some arrayed meshes to allow data driven towers.

More more more! Trees, boooooshes, towers, grass, decals.

Everything needs proper textures. For now, I'm just cranking away on models to get content in to test.

Today was a big learning day. Setting up UE5 lighting, post processing, and sorting out some material design. It's simple, but a good step in my hopeful direction.

We have STATS! Learned how to create a ListView in UE5 today! Very simple, but scalable and functional. I also yoinked some previous code for floating damage numbers. VOD is up on Twitch www.twitch.tv/whiptailen.

Two weeks into dev and I'm happy with progress. A lot of the core systems/concepts are in. I'm starting to see where this tower defense/RTS style game is heading. Exciting! Going to focus adding HUD/UI elements to allow better building tools.

Worked out an area select tool. Update Peons to only harvest a user targeted resource (until exhausted). Added Peon health and armor component.

That feeling when you have a crazy productive day and manage to find something emergent. A "bug" with collision has let me down a rabbit hole for a new mechanic.
