Japan is not a stranger to distilled alcohol. Before making whiskey, they already had sake and schnapps. Whiskey is not something new in Japan. Its history starts in the 1920s when Shinjiro Torii and Masataka Taketsuru. Tore opened the first distillery and employed Taketsuru as the main distiller.

Almost all of the whisky produced in India is made by blending spirit distilled from fermented molasses (similar to what we know as rum) with either grain whisky (maize, wheat, rye or barley) or pre-blended Scotch whisky; it cannot be sold in Europe as whisky. Thank God I live in Australia x)
