Completely correct. There’s tactile feedback when it comes to the strips in our environment. (Manipulating datablocks with the 10-key with ARTCC ERAM does the same thing.)

It’s instant feedback. Write an altitude, draw a line for a clearance, sort them in sequence, etc. They tell the story.
Non-ATC'ers don't get that the strips are a whole-body experience - say it, write/move it simultaneously. The body/mind actions combined reinforces the short-term memory & help regain complete situational awareness if something distracts you.
