Is it possible shutdown cancellations are the reason for the slight drop?

As a lifelong AS follower and customer, this is almost unbelievable.

Endeavor doesn’t even operate LGA-DCA! How bizarre.

JFK-IAD is the only Endeavor flight from NYC to Washington.

Feeding 40 miles in trail to CLT instead of the usual 5-10 due to staffing triggers across the airspace decreasing the capacity of aircraft into busy airports

That’s called 40 MIT to CLT instead of the usual 5-10. Staffing triggers in ZOB and ZTL.

These are tiny drops in the bucket. Cuts this small will make next to ZERO difference in safety or air traffic complexity and volume over the course of a shift.

All that saved time at YTZ and they end up at IAD, with a 1 hr/20 stop train ride to get into DC. Lol

FDIO is the flight strip machine in every tower that is used to print strips with flight data. Any route/altitude/proposed departure time amendments are made via FDIO. I am not really sure how you run an operation without it.

That is accurate. Swing shifts are notoriously harder to staff. More sectors get split out in the afternoon/evening as well since traffic increases. Expect the list to be quite long by around 2-3.

ZNY56 has to get BOS arrivals down pretty quickly. Usually cross NEWES at FL230, which is just north of JFK. The vector seems likely to move them laterally away from AF1 to start their descent. Doesn’t really seem like an imminent TCAS traffic situation, just annoyed at a nonresponsive pilot

I hate this question because it’s always angled towards the idea that pilots are an annoyance. We are here for you! The biggest thing (and this applies to any pilot - airlines or student) is to listen to the frequency before keying up. If the controller is very busy, read the room!

So well put. As an ARTCC controller myself, it is incredible how much the sensation of clicking the keyboard and readjusting data blocks is part of the “scan.” It’s just as much mental engagement as it is physical.

Monday I will be.

So the stop in LAX is ending?

Excellent reporting and a really good byline. Formidable is the correct word to use. Powerhouses.
