66 000 people have been killed & almost 170 000 have been injured in #Gaza.

@who.int estimates that at least 1/4 of those have life-changing injuries that require immediate & ongoing rehabilitation.

I call on all parties to this conflict to choose peace, now.

To ensure access to care and scale up health services, including rehabilitation, that there must be:
🔹urgent protection of health care
🔹unhindered access to fuel & supplies
🔹removal of restrictions on the entry of essential medical items, incl. assistive devices.
Almost 22000 people have suffered severe injuries to their arms or legs. New injuries continue to rise, while Gaza's health system is collapsing. Only 14 of 36 hospitals are partially functional, and less than one-third of rehabilitation services remain. The conflict has severely impacted rehabilitation workers with at least 42 reported dead. Conflict has shattered minds as much as bodies. Mental scars run deep and support is nowhere to be found.

There is no upper age limit for good sex, and it can help keep you healthy into your later years! Sexual health programmes need to meet the needs of older people.

Did you know that since 1999 an independent group of global experts called the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) has been providing WHO evidence-based recommendations on #vaccines?
What is the Strategic advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE)? Provides independent, evidence-based recommendations on vaccines. Established in 1999. SAGE recommendations consider public health impact, cost-effectiveness, programmatic feasibility, and equity. They ensure that vaccines work in real-world settings and reach those who need them the most. Thanks to expert advice from SAGE, WHO’s vaccine policies help give children lasting protection against serious diseases like measles, polio, diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough; giving parents confidence their
child is protected. WHO regularly reviews evidence and ensures vaccine policies reflect the latest science. In fact, SAGE bases its recommendations
only on publicly available evidence
that is carefully assessed and validated using internationally recognized methods.
