Those could've been ttrpg stories.

Practically each and every SW ttrpg table is its own alt-history Infinity take. Heroes who don't exist in the official canon doing heroics that don't affect the official canon, yet just as canonical for the table as the canon.

Ireland just released a report showing the huge success of the unconditional basic income it provided to artists. Each $1 spent led to society gaining $1.39. Artists' earned incomes went up more than their side job incomes fell. And they were happier and used less welfare

I'd go with it unexpectedly purifying PCs or some humans who come into contact with it first, leading perhaps to strange psionic awakenings, with PSI powers requiring the constant consumption of plastics.

"play d&d in a castle!" - my dude, my fellow, I play d&d in my sister's shed with easy access to a kettle. Unless your castle already has my extensive tea making needs met, it is a downgrade. If being old and cold made it better, I'd play in my bathroom.

Yes, your garden gnomes not just see your relationship the other way around, they _know_ it is so, and are just letting you keep dreaming an old dream while having you do their will.
