I've been making my way through the waist-ups and am hoping to have those cleared up in the next couple months.

I'll also probably be taking a break from my socials to lock into work and focus on other things for a bit, so another reason I want to get the slots filled up before that ♥️

But then of course, acknowledging that means acknowledging the need for discussion, passing judgement on a case by case basis and not allowing a blanket judgement and dictated morality of the subject to decide its right to exist. It means taking responsibility for your opinions, comfort and stances.

I very much believe that "fiction can be the ultimate safe space" and "fiction does have the potential to cause harm" are not mutually exclusive subjects. But as pointed out in the video above, harm often comes from intention, or lack thereof, and not the subject itself.

So just wanted to make a quick post, but I did decide to take July off from comm work. I needed to decompress and to let my wrists rest for a bit, though I also am trying to move to a proper screen tablet instead of my ipad and spent what little time I did draw this month trying to learn CSP.

I also had to fight myself tooth and nail to not do ANOTHER red and green color comp (my weakness) and wrestled myself into doing blue and yellow

the inspiration behind my piece was the stories of court jesters being used for espionage, being the eyes and ears of their lord and the how they often played roles in the political space of the court (though clearly my jester here takes a more hands on approach)
