for RP/similar scenarios, neither of them are The WoL (meteor is off doing his thing). the backdrop of msq is happening and has effects on their lives via the calamity, various political conflict, etc.

it's important to me that they're part of the World, even if they're not Main Characters in it.

sohna sort of follows along in meteor's wider entourage, one of the "adventurer friends" referenced from time to time in msq dialogue, following some of the bigger story beats, "a WoL" but not "The WoL." (sohna doesn't know him.)

sam is closer to being The WoL but still isn't Meteor.
