Started this week hoping to win at least one of the two RFPs we recently bid on, lost both but potentially got two entirely different projects to work on from much warmer leads. This business life is a rollercoaster! Gotta get quicker at proposals because last month over 13 days were spent doing em

When we were dreaming up what we wanted @wearechicken.co.uk to be 3 odd years ago we half joked that we wanted Away Weeks like the ones we had at TBX - fuelled by a hot tub and a glass of bourbon. What I didn’t expect was having the chance to take Away Moments. Now I just need the glass of bourbon!

Catching up on some case study writing whilst work is a bit light (for Justine at least!) wearechicken.co.uk/work/a-new-c...

If you need someone to do some design or frontend work, she's got some availability and hates writing these things, even if we're really proud of this work.
A new CMS meant 160× uplift in web conversion for fostering hub
In just eight weeks, our LocalGov Drupal microsite overhaul transformed LBHF’s “Fostering with West London” campaign from 0.2% to 32% site‑driven conversions.

Uploading G-Cloud sales details to CCS, that's a fun joke.

Today I had my first gastroenterologist appointment since moving to Bristol (after having a Crohn’s flare up in May that I couldn’t shift). The consultation was 7 minutes. Without more than “how are you doing?” “Yeah feeling pretty good” she prescribed me Adalimumab.

If you’re gonna have colourful bruises from a stay in hospital you might as coordinate your outfits to match, right? This has been a very strange week but hopefully it is the start of better ones with more energy and less actual poop!

Got my phone out mid project to do something, got wildly distracted by social media, sat down to share my thoughts on the matter (previous post) found myself sat in my newly made no dig bed. I guess it’s always good to test these things out…

I’m pretty rubbish at all sport but I’m pretty tempted to do some kind of inclusive games where trans people can just play their sports and be done with it.

Like a big old test cricket match full of queers and wheelchairs and fat unfit cis people like me - everyone but bigots and nazis.

Made some stickers for the next LocalGov Drupal camp. Looking forward to the next one. Hopefully somewhere in London can host us!

So Monopoly, the game made (by a woman) to warn people of capitalism, now has expansion packs where bribery and corruption are fun new features... I guess that feels inline with the world but gah!!

My body really has held on to the stress of being a junior dev using Git.

Been doing this for over a decade and I am more than competent but how do I tell my muscles that? So much clenching just pushing a branch to the remote.

How come my internet connection goes down every England game? It makes me very sad.

Remember when there was only one monitor size and everything went into a table? Can we go back there please? My brain is hurting trying to sort a text overlay from not overlaying too much.

I’m all up for gender neutral bathrooms and I don’t care where different gender’s pee. But please wipe away the mess if you make some!!!

Instead of all of these prefer not to hear about Mother’s Day emails, why don’t companies send an email to set some marketing settings for events when you join and then yearly? Instead of each Special Person Day sending an email about sending emails.

I have this really odd obsession with stairs in tv shows and films, american buildings seem to have about 583728 steps in their staircases and I just have to count them to check. (I have 13 steps on my staircase)

Cor blimey, so that was a game of one really good conversion and one really bad one.

Was watching something and an actor looked familiar so obviously IMDB’d it. When looking at the actors filmography I spotted Lucy Liu on the cover of Elementary.

So now we’re watching High Potential and Elementary. Very similar and yet very different!

Butter. What a glorious invention.

Homemade bread is always worth the effort.

Bet you can’t tell what I’m eating!

Things I did today:

Had a tantrum.
Caused a tantrum.
Ripped up some grass clumps with my bare hands.
Planted some garlic and shallots.
Read an RFP.
Came up with some ideas for LocalGov Drupal.
Ate sushi.
Watched Neighbours.
Looked for door knobs.

Not in that order.

If. I don’t want to spoil the movie but yup, he’s my imaginary friend too… especially now I’m a grown up.
