I was once working in a top management position but I was very underpaid. When I went on job interviews the interviewers were very skeptical my resume was legit.
It wasn’t until I started to inflate my current salary that I got way more respect and consideration.

As someone who uses humor/satire a good bit, I can vouch for this. My satirical columns absolutely drive MAGA folks nuts. They get orders of magnitude more angry than with serious columns. No comparison.
