Unlike in many parts of #Europe, #wolves have never completely disappeared from #WildPolesia despite habitats' fragmentation and unrestricted hunting.

We are studying the local #wolf population to improve the #conservation of this charismatic species.

As part of our project, 6 training sessions on the SMART system were held for staff of 7 protected areas in the Ukrainian Polesia.
>70 scientists & rangers mastered a new mobile tool for #biodiversity monitoring & data organisation. They also got necessary devices & software.

#Summer is the busiest time of year for specialists conducting #FieldResearch in #WildPolesia. They endure many hardships & inconveniences in their quest to discover new information about the region's #wildlife. We wish them perseverance & good luck this season!
