I think the issue with a lot of #fightinggame balance debates is that it mainly focuses on the top level, rather than overrall balance. Yes, Kain is pretty good in City of the Wolves. Counterpoint: Most Kain's i've seen on ranked are absolute at the character. And i've seen a LOT of Kain's.

Okay so genuine question: Do youngsters refer to RGG games as "triple a slop"? Or are they like, still considered above that? Because i've been thinking if it's a double-standard to judge people for buying rockstar games while loving Yakuza or not for a couple days now.

My favorite SNK mistranslation is in Art of Fighting 3, where during it's tutorial screen they accidently spelled "Hard Blow" as "Hard Brow". Everytime i see it it makes me think of the spongebob bit with the 40 lashes.

I've been playing a shitload of Kizuna Encounter recently. I can't recommend it enough, it's so fun. The combo system is super fun and it also has the best version of Kim!

In Diddy Kong Racing DS, the message when connection is lost during Download Play is "LOST ALL CHILDREN". The cartridge is internally called a "parent" and the downloaded instances its "children". While this would make sense to the developers, it has the potential to confuse or scare players.

If there's one criticism i'd give for Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, it's that everyone's rev blow is way too similar. I would've thought for mr big they'd make his the move where he spins, but from footage i saw, it's just another one that moves you forward and does a hit.

Watched The Howling for the first time tonight. There's one "jumpscare" in that film where if it was done by any other director i'd be mad at it but because it's Joe Dante i can only go like "ha ha oh silly Joe, you got me good with that one"
