Philosopher working on AI ethics and epistemology. Also a socialist and a metalhead, but sadly much more boring than that might suggest. https://www.willfleisher.net

“The other issue I’m having is that my stronger students are very, very bored. I asked AI how to further engage them with AI prompting. Now, those advanced students are working on prompting AI to come up with ways to refreeze the glaciers their AI prompting has melted.”

No don’t worry, it’s fine, Business Guy is on the case.

Seriously, I love that this is just an unsubtle advertisement for this one company. That’s the take away they want you to get: everything is fine as long as you buy from our sponsors.

I was just saying to @neuroyogacara.bsky.social yesterday that calling other people NPCs is really telling on yourself. Tell me you’re incapable of empathy without telling me…

to me, the “column” is less a form than an opportunity (and a challenge). you’re telling me i have as much space as i’d like to make an argument about anything i’d like to an audience inclined to pay close attention? well let’s see if they’ll read 2000 words on democratic legitimacy. (gift link)

One point Montesquieu makes that I find pretty insightful is that despotism er fuckin sucks and we definitely should not do that. I feel we have a lot to learn from this.

Yeah, that was a great time. Hard to know what to post. I’m doing some re-listening. I’m not necessarily claiming it was even the best thing he did, but Slaughter of the Soul is by itself an all-time greatest album, HoF (if we really had one) qualifying. Just fucking killer.
