This statement here highlights the challenge with NDAA. Nehls, aviation subcom. chair, says he has concerns w/ section unwinding DCA safety initiatives. BUT he voted for it anyways - because NDAA is a huge vehicle & must pass.

Now goes to the Senate. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes law.

Nehls has been a staunch advocate of Age 67, paying controllers during shutdowns, etc.

As the federal gov prepares for a shutdown, OPM has notified agencies to simultaneously draw up reduction in force plans.

Guidance related to that dropped today. Remarkably, OPM has determined that anyone working on a RIF plan would be "excepted" from the shutdown and would still have to work.
