I hope the entire world boycotts us. Kicks us out of the Winter Olympics, boycotts the World Cup, fires off the trade bazooka. Everything.

It’s gonna suck living here for it but there’s no other acceptable ethical position. The response has to severely hurt both reputation and revenue

Oh no this pains me because I love D&D and the Cure, but also this dude is fucking comically awful and I want his interests to be light years away from mine
January 24, 2026 at 5:44 AM
He is comically awful. The Greenland / Peace Prize email is so ridiculous that it strains our own reality testing.

We’re cooked if we can’t get at least 1/4 of the republicans to see how terrifyingly Nero/Caligula this is

Some believe that we’ll elect good people and reverse the policies and everything will be good again. I hope so! But the rest of the world will remember—for many generations—that we couldn’t contain Trump’s worst actions while he was president and won’t trust us.

MAGA has fucked us for 50 years

My biggest fear is that since Americans can’t see the alternative reality in which Minneapolis didn’t resist, they might not realize just how many hundreds (perhaps thousands) of disappearances and abductions that our reality’s strong, dedicated, and 99% peaceful response prevented

Wait you can’t just scissor off an organ that’s so sensitive they can detect tiny changes in air pressure and object location without even touching them?
January 16, 2026 at 5:29 AM
Might Trump send ICE or other thugs to polling areas in close races (under the false pretense of national emergency around voting security) and suppress the blue vote?

“He’ll cancel the midterms” is useless catastrophizing but gaming out things he could do and planning a response seems a good idea

I think it’s here

Truth. Cheese sauce makes potatoes or tortilla chips too soggy. Melted shredded cheese is waaaaay better

Maybe the thrill of that occasion happening (especially if it’s a surprise) will make whatever we’re wearing at that moment more special

Half expecting business-suit clad men aboard an 18th-century pirate ship to emerge from the fog
December 15, 2025 at 4:48 PM
I hope not! That would be as bad and cheesy as “the whole last season was just a dream” season finale-opener from Dallas decades ago

At least half the viewers (including me) would bail

I agree—it’s much much harder to land with sci-fi. But Andor managed it (although it isn’t nearly as weird, and it parallels real politics quite well)

The main beats could be done in 150-200 minutes, but when the extended length comes from depth, it’s really good

I loved Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul because they could build so slowly, showing big change over time

You could do either in a couple of hours but it would be so shallow
December 14, 2025 at 3:20 AM
I thought they had written themselves into a corner with the end of season 1, but they found a good way out of it

Same thing for s2. It might seem impossible how to get out of that but they’ve been really smart about it and I think they’ll do it

Stiller has been very clear about not making it Lost
December 14, 2025 at 3:17 AM
I think Severance will be done right, likely ending at season 4 like Succession.

Succession had a whole lot of repetition about mergers and buyouts but it worked because it was so well-written, performed, and filmed

Unlike Lost, Severance feels intentional and they are providing answers as they go

Sounds like 360-no-scope in combat games?

Maybe some gamers get less concerned about winning, and more about creating cool TikToks. Or maybe they get bored with the game itself, and after awhile they have more fun playing with movement and challenges

Doesn’t really bother me one way or the other 🤷‍♂️

Maybe his skin goes super red after doing strenuous activity, such as walking down a hallway or reading about his poll numbers.

They color match him while he’s sitting down and “calm” (whatever that is for him) and then the redness comes out later.

I had a false start myself when it came out. But my second (and more focused) viewing got me through and holy shit, it’s incredible
December 7, 2025 at 7:21 AM
Yup. Lots of things can be true — our healthcare system sucks, toxic masculinity sucks, and Walter White did what he did because it provided a sick satisfaction, not because it was to “provide for his family.”

I just finished Better Call Saul, and recency bias as it is, maybe it’s even better?
